The Western Bulldogs and Adelaide Crows meet in Ballarat to open the AFL’s Saturday action, with the match to be a true test of whether the Crows are genuine top-eight material.

The Bulldogs (2-3, 100.7%) found form in last week’s 68-point Good Friday win over North Melbourne.

But Luke Beveridge’s side has been dealt a cruel blow with Tim English’s hamstring injury as Stefan Martin comes in for his first game of 2022, while Lachie Hunter and Mitch Wallis also come out for personal reasons.

The Crows (2-3, 94.8%) enjoyed a big win over the Tigers last week to breath life into their season despite Rory Sloane going down with a season-ending ACL injury.

After the win, Fox Footy commentator Dwayne Russell said the Crows appeared to be a “finals threat”.

There were no late changes for either side, with Rhylee West (Bulldogs) and Will Hamill (Crows) named the medical subs.

This match gets underway at 1:45pm AEST from Mars Stadium.
